I was and still am huge fan for Opera. I used it from the beggining and dont want to quit BUT this 9.52 on Vista crashes all the time. If i open a tab, type a url and press enter and then open a new tab before the old tab loads then BAAAAAAM, it crashes.
If i try to video online and make them fullscreen, BAAAAAAAM it crashes.
If i open facebook.com BAAAAAAAAAM it crashes…

and so on!

I hope this will get fixed up soon!

Only crashes I experience (and seldom) are backtracking through the cache from pages that contain flash apps or videos.

How can I block the address pop up of links when I mouse over an object or an image on a web page?

The address pop up goes over another text that pops up and that I wanna read. The address hides that text so I have have to move the mouse cursor away and back to read a little more, and away and again and agai whenever the address reappears…

For Opera 3.62, I found this in an editorial of SmartComputing:

“Turn off link displays. By default, Opera displays the URL associated with a link just below your cursor. As a result, when you mouse over a link, the displayed URL may cover text on the page, preventing you from being able to read it. To turn off the URL display, go to Preferences, Button- And Statusbar and uncheck Popup Address Of Links.”

Unfortunately this was lost somewhere between version 3.62 and 9.52?

Thanks, I’ve been reporting crashes quite a bit. I think sent about 3-4 emails last night with crash logs :/

It is interesting to see that developers of Opera are so ambitious, altogh it has a lower market share than all pre IE-6-browser together. Sad, but true.

Finally PDFs are working with disc cache disabled again (broken since 9.50)
Some cache issues remain (shows old pages, requires manual reloading e.g. after logging in into some pages).

9.5xx crashed nearly every day and multiple times a day for me. Unfortunately, 9.52 did not change that. It also still requires a regen to get embeded youtube working at times.

That I have to even consider wiping out my settings, do a clean install and then set it up again, doesnt say much about Opera. It’s not like I ever changed settings except from within Opera’s own interface.

Will change to 9.52 in a few days time, when the PC-BSD up-dater kicks in. Because PC-BSD supports Opera, I upgrade this way, so as to show there is a demand for Opera on the OS/distro.

We are also running Opera on a Core 2 Duo, with Ubuntu and it works excellently, save for the odd flash hiccup.

Fixed an issue where “Mark all as read” in Opera Mail would also mark as read some mails not visible in the current view
