When Dragonfly will be anounced?
using
Looks like never

Dragonfly looks like another PR thing from Opera, and we know how those usually end up: a failure. Why they announce a date and when the date comes no one says nothing?. Seriously, guys this kind of stuff does more harm than good — if it’s not ready don’t start the PR machine yet, hold your horses until it’s truly the right time. Pissing people off is not really a good marketing policy.

When did they announce a date?

David Storey (Opera’s Chief Web Officer) said:
“We’ll likely have more to say about it at SxSW in Austin Texas.”

Lots of people wait about it, if it isn’t ready, it was enough a communication to say that in Austin will not be presentation about Opera Dragonfly.

At the show, we’ll be showing off the latest versions of My Opera, Opera, Opera Mini, the Wii Internet Channel and some very special new stuff!

What is the new stuff?

They probably didn’t find the time to announce their new product as they were too busy “rocking”, whatever that means. Give them another day to sober up, there will be plenty of time to get impatient as of tomorrow

Any news about dragonfly out there?

Sorry guys but the rock opera event was awesome. I was there early in the evening since I had to split to make the party my company was hosting but the band that was on at the time was incredible. At least if you are into harder rock… They were very tight lipped about DragonFly. The quote I got was “If the details leak out, it needs to not come from my lips…” But they had teaser fliers there…. My guess is that it is a product for semi-automatically ensuring standards in websites and maybe even notifying the site owners somehow. The clue was that a dragonfly goes out and devours bugs…

BTW the band that was playing was Lomita… Check them out: http://www.last.fm/music/Lomita
