The graph below shows the amazing story of Opera Mini. In January of 2008, Opera Mini users browsed more than 1.8 billion webpages. And as I said before, the mobile Web is alive and kicking.
Since being released two years ago, Opera Mini has grown into the browser of choice for the Web on mobile phones.
With more than 100,000 daily downloads of Opera Mini, I certainly expect this figure to skyrocket over the coming months.

Congrats! But is 1.8bn a lot? What can we compare it with?

~200M (+13%) jump from Dec07 to Jan08, but an even bigger jump of ~320M (+25%) from Nov07 to Dec07! Was there a major Opera Mini push or just a symptom of the holiday season?
using
Juba, you could compare it to the amount of traffic we had a year or two ago.

Juba,
for a mobile browser, 1.8 billion is quite a lot.
I believe it is one of the best programs out there. I judge a program by how it compares to the competition on its platform. Looked in this light, Opera mini is so far ahead of its competitors that it may well be the best program now, even after taking KDE, Synaptic, Photoshop and excel into consideration (at least for the general masses).
