Opera Mini coming to the US with Helio

Today we had another first for Opera Mini. Helio became to first mobile provider in the United States (US) to deploy Opera Mini on their mobile phones.

Not long ago, Helio users got together and hacked the Helio Ocean phone to make it work with Opera Mini. It was a hit. Helio, the company, listened to their users and are now officially deploying Opera Mini.

Now that is something I would like and expect from mine and other mobile carriers/operators. Listen to your users, and give them the full Web on a normal browser.

Download Opera Mini on your Helio Ocean by dialing “67372″ (OPERA).

    Those Opera Mini guys in Poland are working hard on BREW-compatible Mini. Until then, being that I’m on Verizon, I’ll just have to wait for the Web in my hand. Opera has made amazing progress with Mini over tha past 2 years–marketshare has shot up without limits. This is good news.

A: It's about getting more out of the time you spend on the internet. Opera is designed to be much faster than these browsers and gives you powerful features that the default browser lacks. Default browsers like Internet Explorer are also more likely to be subjected to dangerous software such as viruses and spyware.

Q: Will Opera keep me safe from fraudulent websites and malicious hackers?

Q: Doesn't Opera copy all of their features from other browsers?
A: Absolutely not. In fact, many of the features that are popular in other browsers today were invented and pioneered by Opera a long time ago. Q: Does Opera support extensions, such as those found in Firefox?

Q: Can I also use Opera on my mobile phone?
A: Yes. And your Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS or almost any connected device and mobile phones. Opera Mobile oftens comes preinstalled from the manufacturers, but if it doesn't you can install Opera Mini which runs on nearly all phones.
