@Jonny: 4 hours with Opera Mini isn't bad at all, I use it at every possible occassion, when I have to wait somewhere, be it a bus, line for a lunch or whatever ;-) I did have a look at the Prague jobs page immediately, but none of the positions seemed suitable for me, so...maybe some other time. I hope those Slovak guys are really good ;-) Thanks.

No, ironically localisation is something that doesn't have to be local (you just need knowledge of the target region). Some offices are primarily sales offices, it is an advantage to be close to your customers, others are development offices, yet others are a mix. The Prague office is a development office, focused on future phones and devices. Of course they could work in another office as well, but many (and that includes me) may prefer working in Prague than in e.g. Oslo. That the travel time to Oslo HQ, including airports and local transport is less than five hours, and there are several flights daily, is not a disadvantage either.

Hello, Michal and BB, is it OK if I call you Jozef? Yesterday our second Slovak joined Prague Opera. That means that 1/3 of our office is actually Slovak (if you leave me out to make things more complicated). So do have a look at the jobs page. The more Slovaks the merrier (it also means I will have to brush up my Slovak comprehension skills, but that is probably good for me).

Serious, have you seen this link? 4 hours and 17 minutes on the train isn't too bad with Opera Mini in hand, or a PC and a UMTS connection. Of course with a real high-speed train it would take around an hour, but there is no indication that would happen any decade near us.

Wow, I almost had a heart attack when I saw the title, Opera can't get any closer to me (I'm in Slovakia) than this... And working for Opera could be really exciting... Well, maybe some other time. :-(

I wish the Prague team all the best.

And now, get to work :-D
