A part of the Opera Mobile 9.5 comes Small Screen Rendering. Does this work the same way as Opera Mini but in the OM 9.5?

Opera 9.,5 desktop uses Kestrel not Presto.
Presto is used up until 9.25.

This is not correct. Opera’s rendering engine has been ‘Presto’ since Opera 7 on desktop. “Kestrel” is just a codename/nickname for the desktop release itself. For a history of the layout engine, check Wikipedia.

I used to upgrade my computer when new games was released, now I upgrade my phone when new browsers comes out. Wish something could drive me to update my fridge just as often…looking forward to the beta. :thumb:

I have a Razor2 (Motorola V8i) that comes with Opear Mobile 8.6 (Free - more or less). So if I upgraded to 9.5 will I have to buy the new version or is there a cheaper upgrade option?

Will Opera Mobile finally go free?

It will be facing some heavy competition from free browsers like Nokia’s webkit based default one on S60, the upcoming Skyfire browser (which also uses a proxy like Opera Mini, but also supports dynamic content like Google maps and quicktime video) and ofcourse Opera Mini itself

The new features look awesome, but they may not be enough for some users to shell out 25$, considering the free alternatives.

So i don’t think it make a lot of business sense to still charge for Opera Mobile, especially because of the phenomenal success of the free Opera Mini.

Does Symbian mean UIQ as well. Everything is always s60. True, I hate my phone, and I will NOT get an UIQ smartphone again. But I’m stuck with it for the time being…

It’d be cool if you could chose to stream the sites through Opera Mini servers too, even in this more fully fledged mobile browser. Data rates are high…
