   What I don’t understand is what are the main differences between Opera Mobile and Mini. I’ve read everywhere how Opera Mini is fast, awesome and the best thing since sliced bread, but that obviously doesn’t explain why Mobile is a paid application and Mini isn’t.

   I have both a Nokia N91 (176×208) and a N95 (240×320). Which Opera is better for each one?

   (By the way, if you still have a registration code left somewhere…

   mini = page preloaded and compressed in Operas servers.
   Mobile = page loaded and rendered in your phone (faster than mini if you have a fast network)

   Will this code work for Opera Mobile 9 when it’s released? or will you need to purchase an upgrade code. Also is it possible to set it so that it compresses the images on Opera’s servers like in Opera Mini?

   Well, I just bought Opera Mobile a few days ago, and I don’t regret it (and I think the codes are gone anyway), but I could convince my father with a free licence code to use Opera Mobile

   @HexDec: Opera Mobile has tabs, and it can handle animated GIFs and dynamic pages better than Opera Mini. But it doesn’t have the fancy page overview

   @Hylic: I think that will be decided when OpMo 9 is ready, but normally, you’ll have to pay for a new code (but not as much as you did the first time).

    Opera Mini is a mini browser. Opera Mobile is a full-featured browser with tabs, plugin support, etc.

    Cool… kinda makes me want to have a smartphone. Nonetheless, I’ve got a regular mobile phone from Verizon. Someday I’ll get Opera Mini for Brew phones when the price for internet isn’t so high.

    Well, i’m posting from the N91 to say thanks to mrkukov, wupperbayer and flick for their explanations, that i’ll going to take the Mobile route, at least with this device (the memory consumption of the integrated Safari browser is outrageous, to say the least) and to tell you people that writing replies using T9 is a royal PITA

    Mobile is superb. When I had my iMate Jam it went on there and made browsing on that platform so much better.

    Now I’ve got a w880i though so no longer need it. Fantastic little Hogmanay gift though to give out.

    (I think though that Mini is to phones a far far greater improvement than Mobile is to mobile computing platforms… Mini captures the imagination far more easily even though Mobile is a far more ‘full’ enduser experience)

    I’ve been seriously looking at a T-Mobile Shadow, though I haven’t been able to bring myself to get something that runs Windows Mobile. I expect you’ll run out of reg codes long before I make up my mind!

    Opera_wannabe, the trial version of Opera Mobile will only last for 30 days. Reinstalling it won’t give you another 30 days. If you want a free license, send me an email.
