More nice words from Cnet today. After posting a positive video review of Opera Mini 4 yesterday on CnetTV, today Cnet wrote a blog post entitled “Opera Mini 4: One of the best mobile browsers ever made.”
Snippets from Cnet:
“But what if you don’t want an iPhone, or can’t afford one, and you still want a good mobile Web experience? Is there another browser out there that can compete with the might of the iPhone? Yes, there is — it’s called Opera Mini 4.”
“We’ve been using it for two days now and we have to say that it’s truly superb — and it’s free.”

I recently got a new phone from work, a Nokia N93i. I have tried both the bundled web browser (whatver it is) and also installed Opera Mini. I found the bundled browser to be much more intuitive and easy to use, for some reason. Maybe I’ll give Opera Mini a second try sometime.

David Naylor, what was the other browser? (Or should it be obvious from the phone model’s name…

I’m afraid I haven’t understood if the browser has a name. There doesn’t seem to be a name in the phone’s UI anyway.

So why was it more inuitive and easy to use?

Nokia N93i is a S60 phone having the WebKit based browser preinstalled… The browser also selected by Googles Android offer …
OM is compared to S60, and found twice as fast ( http://www.operamini.com/features/ )
Users (marketshare) and reviewers all suggest OM is better, eg. Cnet above, or :
” … The mobile Opera Mini 4 browser has just been released. This seems to be just the right stuff the GPhone could use as its killer app, since Opera Mini 4 is optimized for quicker scrolling, navigation, and page rendering on mobile handsets… ”
