Firefox 2 25.9%
Opera 9 18.1%
Explorer 7 12.4%
Opera 8 1.6%

I dont underst the people what like IE.

I think that browser stats are all over the place for the smaller browsers. For example, on my sites, I have more people using PlayStation Portable than Opera Mini.

Oh, desktop share IS low… revenue only $ 3 mill. per quarter… bucks don’t lie

Indeed, nice to see Mini growing, but to rule mobile browser market, Opera needs to release v.9… make press and people forget iPhone, Nokia S60, and PIE browsers

Agree with @WildEnte… Opera desktop should benefit from Mobile and Wii success, but stats say, not so…

@WildEnte: I believe Opera Mini and Opera for desktop will help each other. It’s certainly easier to spread Opera Mini, since there’s a void in the mobile browser arena. However, once people hear of Opera Mini, the name ‘Opera’ wouldn’t be so foreign to them (even on the desktop).

I have just had to reload opera mobile on 2 devices as usage period had expired but the new beta does not include single column and frankly fit to screen does not work very well without that. whats happned to it ?

I believe most Opera Mini users are also using Opera desktop. Users of Opera desktop are usually informed about what browsers are available, and if they choose to browse using their mobile phone, know about Opera Mini. If Opera Mini is making big progress with people that do not yet use Opera desktop, I believe that some of those Mini users will try Opera on the desktop and thus increase the desktop usage, which doesn’t really happen for all I see here.

Nevertheless, Opera Mini is certainly easier to spread than Opera Desktop. Using a mobile phone to browse the web in public does attract interest in bystanders, and probably sooner or later Opera Mini will have that critical mass to promote itself. Some aggressive marketing can’t harm though.

Yes that’s impressive. Oh - not the .39% of Opera mini. But this: If you belive, that this statistics are ok, than you had to belive the .87% of Opera (for PCs) usage too. Oh of course, i forgot … THIS number is only a result of Opera’s user agent mimicry [i don't belive that]. With the release of the free Opera there were forecasts up to 10% of usage.

what’s interesting on the piechart is that the 78% is tagged microsoft internet explorer, which was last used for internet explorer 6, ie7 runs under the name windows internet explorer given that it’s no longer available for mac.

so what does that 78% represent? both? ie6?
