The Opera Mini team just released a new beta of Opera Mini 4.

New in this beta is Opera Link (more about Opera Link here) as well as some other improvements.

With Opera Link, you could now access all your bookmarks and Speed Dial sites from the Opera desktop browser directly in Opera Mini. Pretty cool.

Join us tonight for the Rock Opera party in San Francisco, California along with The Binges and The 88 rock bands.

Mac users download this theme once you install Leopard: http://my.opera.com/brunopensando/skins/get.pl?id=7649

It’s not the greatest of themes but it’s the only theme to be made specifically for Leopard integration. And it looks very click I attest, but it does have a few problems.

Found a bug in the beta already (I’ll report this, just pointing it out). I was on my Youtube page (http://youtube.com/profile?user=DMXell) and scrolled down and up and the semi-transparent backgrounds on the boxes disappeared completely in most boxes and became striped in my videos box.

Are you reffering to Opear Mini, or Opera Desktop?

Opera desktop, sorry x.x This apparently also happens to fully opaque boxed on Youtube as well.

So Daniel, is there any hope for us Verizon users ever seeing a BREW version of Opera Mini? There are 50+ million Verizon subscribers in the US, and I’m guessing that many of them have BREW handsets, since only a few VZW models support Java (e.g. BlackBerrys). Now that I have Opera Link on my desktop, I’d love to get it in my hand…

Don’t bother with the new 4 update. It is horrible. You now have to scroll, zoom in and out, just to read web sites. The sites are no longer fit into 1 window. Opera Mini 4 is like the Windows Vista of mobile browsing! Useless features, made more difficult to use.

Joey, NO. Verizon uses BREW, Opera is Java based. You will NEVER, EVER see a free version of Opera on Verizon’s network. It wouldn’t matter how many customers use their network, Verizon doesn’t offer any application for free.

How does not work with the WebSphere Java implementation? I have a Treo 700p through Verizon (I know, *yuck*), but I also have Java installed (IBM Java VM) so why is it that Opera mini won’t work??

Very frustrating. Also, have to agree, Verizon won’t do anything “free” even things that other companies include as a part of the services you pay for (and it’s not like Verizon is cheaper than other services).
