1 million members on My Opera, the Opera community site
Published September 9th, 2007 9:14 PM EDT By Daniel GoldmanThe My Opera community site surpassed the 1 million mark for registered members.
Congratulations to everyone who’s helped make My Opera into what it is today. It’s a place where I regularly hang out and read people’s blog posts, view photos, read the Opera Forums, and more. It’s a vibrant and active community behind Opera.
Around 200,000 blogs and more than 3 million photos are hosted on My Opera.
Head over to the My Opera for the official celebration blog post. They have links to screenshots from the very first look of My Opera (from way back in September, 2001) and the changes all the way to today. In addition, they posted links to blog posts by popular members who blogged about the milestone.
Is My Opera a MySpace alternative? And… when will My Opera be ranked together with the other social networking sites? Isn’t it time already?

Nice! It was a while back when I first joined the community. I can’t imagine a day without it now.
BTW, have you tried getting Techcrunch or one of the other big blogs to write a story about My Opera?

Why are you obsessed with numbers?

Now all we need is social bookmarking , using ofcourse kestrel’s scnchronize feature!

Once again
“We’ll be back shortly
The Opera Community is currently experiencing technical difficulties. We apologise for the downtime and aim to be up and running again as soon as possible.”

@underwhlemed: their popularity is growing faster than their servers!

That number might well be overshadowed when Opera 9.5 + Sync reaches final release stage

“Why are you obsessed with numbers?”
Why not?
It’s a good thing to have milestones and goals. And as long as the numbers keep growing, things are on the right track.
People like to measure things, keep track of things, etc. Stop whining about it.
Just the other day, Mozilla started bragging about download numbers again as well. Everyone does it. Accept it and move on.
