Opera Mini is not only available as a free download on www.operamini.com, we also have deals with handset manufacturers (OEMs), mobile phone operators/carriers, and distribution partners. Motorola, Samsung, Nokia, T-Mobile and others pre-install Opera Mini on their phones as the default browser.

Why not link to the quarterly financials where this and more is available to your readers?

Asa, this information is a compilation of mulitiple quarters, not just the one released today. Besides, I generally try to stay away from financial stuff. Opera is about the browsing experience, not about money and stocks (I don’t even follow our stock price).
using
I have sony z610i, recently bought, and there isnt any opera mini preinstalled on it.
using
Nike, as I mentioned in the note above, some of these phones only have Opera Mini pre-installed with certain operators.
using
Hi, i have one question. Are mobile operators paying for the pre-install Opera Mini or Opera Software is giving free? Thanks
using
Miky, we charge them to install Opera Mini on their phones. Opera Mini is only free for indvidual users to download.
using
I’am sorry, Daniel.

What about Brazilian carriers? It’s a market of more than one thousand million cell phones . . . Of course, most of them are prepaid, but we Brazilian love technology. We used to be the second nation with the shortest time between cell phone model changes . . .
using
Thiago, we have a global sales team for Opera Mini, Opera Mobile, and Opera for devices.

The author of this this so-called BlackBerry-killers review on the Reg appears to be quite happy with Opera on his phone. I’m not sure whether he’s referring to Mini or Mobile, though.

Daniel, the financial reports cover a lot more than financials. Contrary to your assertion that “Opera is about the browsing experience, not about money and stocks” I’d encourage you to follow these reports since they give you a view of Opera as it would like itself to be seen by its real shareholders (actual stock shareholders.)
The reports talk about quarter over quarter, year over year, and multi-year trends of market share, revenue, partners (including all of the pre-install partners), distribution, etc.

“… Opera is about the browsing experience, not about money and stocks…”
Wrong attitude
Opera desktop is far better than the reward (2% market share). Browsing, experienced by few, is not a success, thus not a goal… Focus on the money, at all times. Build what market really wants, to finance development and secure growth… Like Opera Mini. It makes carriers, phone manufacturers, and content providers richer, thus willing to share profits…
.
As for topic. Telenor, the *birthplace* of Opera, has controlling stakes in carriers in emerging markets, like Pannon (Hungary) and GrameenPhone (Bangladesh). Now Opera partners. However, The Russian carrier VimpelCom is also under Telenor influence. Opera got MegaFon (Russia), why not VimpelCom ?
@sc, Motorola Q9 got Opera Mobile preinstalled.

And the Sony-ericsson W960i?

Or it is Opera Mobile and not the mini?

Asa – I think your input is extremely important, and can help Opera/watch out a lot. I think it is nice to see you opening up, and writing sincerely; following the blog (which we know you ALWAYS did); but even following the comments!
Your input, I can tell you, is valuable to the readers, I hope to the writers as well!!!
Thanks!

@EC
Asa is pushing an agenda, that’s all.

Cool

Here in Colombia, the Sony Ericsson K550i doesn’t have the Opera mini, instead, comes with NetFront preinstalled.
Opera Sofware should set some relationships in the down side of America too.

Asa always tell the truth………… the truth based in his opinion biased ALWAYS against Opera.
Of course, Asa is pushing an agenda, he is not interesed in the well-being of Opera and its users, in fact he looks for bad publicity towards Opera by means of affirmations based in his ignorance about like Opera, as company, works.
Therefore, opinions from Asa not have to be taken seriously
