Opera Mini users browsed close to 1 billion pages last month

We’ve seen a continuous increase in usage of the Opera Mini browser. Last month alone (July) Opera Mini users browsed close to 1,000,000,000 (yup, 1 billion) pages.

Since January of 2006 Opera Mini users browsed more than 7.8 billion webpages (see graph below).

In addition to those using Opera Mini on phones that have had it pre-installed by handset manufactures and operators/carriers, 19.9 million users have downloaded and used Opera Mini.

According to HitsLink, Opera Mini had 0.24% of the browser market share in the month of July, an impressive stat for a mobile browser.

With the upcoming Opera Mini 4 release we expect to see a continued surge in the usage and popularity of Opera Mini.

    using Opera Opera 9.22 on Windows Windows XP

    Fantastic. Is there any other larger mobile site/portal on the www? From zero to 20m downloads in 18mth is like wathcing Skype growth once more. With a good launch of Opera Mini 4, we might be looking at above 35m downloads at end of 2007 (target for Opera i 30m). Congrats.

    Are those numbers including every time you go to your feeds? (you do access the server every time) If so then 1.000.000 of those are from my phones :p Really looking forward to a OM 4 with RSS enabled.

Q: Doesn't Opera copy all of their features from other browsers?
A: Absolutely not. In fact, many of the features that are popular in other browsers today were invented and pioneered by Opera a long time ago. Q: Does Opera support extensions, such as those found in Firefox?

Q: Can I also use Opera on my mobile phone?
A: Yes. And your Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS or almost any connected device and mobile phones. Opera Mobile oftens comes preinstalled from the manufacturers, but if it doesn't you can install Opera Mini which runs on nearly all phones.
