Yes… its a good indicator now…
I felt a little proud bcoz i’ve also promote Opera in my blog last month, although it is in Malay.. (http://tokapi.blogspot.com/2007/06/opera-what.html)

I hope that Opera will lead ahead in the browser competition bcoz its simply the fastest and the best!

It looks more like the AppleMac now, lets hope they dont mess it up….

I think the point about apple users, is that their OS is far more stable than MS, If you are mainly surfing and using documents…

The trouble is, comparing Opera for Mac & and Opera for windows is like comparing ‘Apples & oranges’ !!
- It interacts with two *totally* different OSes…

Once again, especially to rather underwhelmed: This is valid for the United States only. The US have both: More Apple users than Europe and fewer Opera users than Europe. So please don’t say Safari has more users than Opera, unless you also say that this is the case in the US, not worldwide.

btw.: I’m now doing something to keep Windows 95 alive, look at my browser and OS (No, I’m not using Win 95, I’m using XP. Opera 2.12 seem to use Windows 95 as its OS unless it’s NT 4)

Judging by the feedback in the forums, Speed Dial is one of the most popular features ever. Rarely have you seen so many people praise a new feature. And it isn’t geeky, contrary to what you seem to believe. It’s a lot easier than sessions and bookmarks. Now, a session manager, that’s geeky!

about the geeky thing - They were pushing it like it was the best thing ever… and all we got was speed dial… If they had not pushed it sooo hard, it wouldnt be geeky… ie, not something that *everyone* wants, like a decent session manager, or even ‘ie style’ bookmarks….

but it is SD, and very limited in use as well…

If Opera’s market share is increasing, it is gaining users and keeping up. Not that this is relevant, since Opera won’t be removed from the statistics. You are just trying to save yourself from looking silly after making that statement earlier.

Your assumption does not hold water, since Opera has been part of statistics since it had even a fraction of the market share it has today. Opera is still the #4 according to Net Applications, and those stats even include browsers with 0.01 per cent market share. Why would they remove a browser with about 1 per cent market share while keeping browsers with 0.01 per cent market share?

And let’s not forget that the stats in Europe show Opera at up to 5-10 per cent market share.

Wow! So not only will Opera be removed from the statistics despite its growith, but it is a disgrace, and Opera Software will suddenly ditch a quarter of their revenue!

In the first quarter of 2007, Opera Desktop made up 25 per cent of Opera Software’s revenue, and the revenue from the desktop version increased by more than 140 per cent compared to the first quarter of 2006.

A disgrace indeed…

new york times? count how many ‘firefox’ is there, and how many times ‘opera’ and draw conclusions yourself. how many diggs opera stories have? 10? 20? how many firefox? 1000? when it was the last time someone put something about opera on /.[not counting 'new version']
