Call to action: Showcase your Opera

LifeHacker (one of the top blogs) is compiling a bunch of screenshots of non-Firefox browser.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Take a screenshot of your browser window
- Write up a short description of the widgets/themes/etc. that makes Opera so great
- Send your screenshot and description to lifehacker (instructions here)
Show off your Opera!
Here is what I’ll be sending to LifeHacker.

(A screenshot of my Opera setup – click to enlarge)
As you can see from the screenshot of my Opera, I’ve disabled the default Opera skin and chose the Windows native look. My friend who introduced me to Opera many years ago had his tab bar on the bottom, which is how I got used to it. On my Speed Dial I have the visual bookmarks to my most visited sites. I have additional button-bookmarks on my Personal bar. Near the address bar I have added a couple buttons that open the current page in Internet Explorer and Firefox. I have a couple Opera Widgets open on startup (a weather widget and a calendar one).
– Thanks to the many who emailed me about this.

I’ve always had some variation of
this setup
My “tab contrast” theme that puts more emphasis on the active tab is the only thing of note- plus the space saving panel toolbar and the heavy reliance on mouse gestures and (not pictured) keyboard shortcuts.
It’s an older version of Opera, I’ll update it for LH, but it’s not that different

Drudge Report at #1? Really?

@Asa: Hehe, at least you did alter Opera’s setup
Even if you put the address bar at the wrong place… and, by the way, no “InFF” button for you?
@Daniel: Is this screenshot showing Opera 9.2x or 9.50?

My opera http://www.nu11.org/linked_files/operaforums/opera060106_tags.PNG it’s over a year old but it’s still the same aside from “Open in Firefox” and “Open in IE” buttons to the left of the status bar up top

LOL, Asa has “Go” button and tabs below address bar! Why would you want “Go” button if you can press Enter instead?

@Daniel: You didn’t “showcase” your nearly 600 unread emails?? haha =)

Here’s my Opera screenshot.
Theme is Clarity, menu bar removed but can be access via the the button on the left of the tab bar. No need of search bar since Opera automatically search words in the address bar. I use search alias for other searches. Buttons on the right of the address bar are Web Dev Tools button, followed by the classics View in Firefox and View in IE (I added icons).

Nice setup – I also have Drudge. It’s the best
