“Skin” or UI was never a big deal. The real big deal is lack of OS X technologies like Keychain, Colorsync and native font rendering.

The UI/Skin easily fixed, keychain and font rendering are real issues.

there are a lot of win98 guys out there.. its much safer, because its ‘forgotten’ by the hackers…

Good job. Now do it with GTK (Linux). Right now it uses QT, and while that’s great and all, it looks terrible in Gnome. I’ve tried skins too, none of them come close to the real thing.

and it still hates ‘mask as IE’

But of course this does not apply to a “false User-Agent string” saying firefox…

MAC fans please NOTE!!

there are hundreds of skins available, just by the ‘appearance’ dialog..
Shift+F12, Skin, find more skins.. you can download a new skin, try it *real time*, and if you dont like it, just say no…

If you say yes, it saves it, and you can change back later…

there are also fill info on How to make your own!!

This is good news. I actually preferred the Mac version over the Windows version since I got it, but there have been a few things which have bothersome. Let’s hope this preview is going to impress!

While I was using a Mac, I was quite pleased that using Opera was pretty similar to Windows, the general things like keyboard shortcuts and general programme things aside.

But then, I was hardly a willing Mac user, and I’ll shut up before I start the whole PC/Mac thing

I am most certainly using Opera on a Mac and I’d love to see Opera be more Mac-like on OS X. Looking forward to it! Although a brushed metal skin might be a little late, since Apple is ditching brushed metal in OS X 10.5 Leopard.
