I wonder what the stats are for Canada. How can I see all the stats? I have done a quick look and, unless things have changed, Telus and Bell offer unlimited Internet on phones, meaning unlimited Opera Mini, I havn’t a clue with Fido, and Rogers have a 5mb and 10 mb plan. I signed up for the 5mb plan just before they introduced the 10mb plan and it is totally insuffcient for a months use. Last month I used 7 mb (and had too pay hard for over use) and I have already reached the limit for May. Will switch to the 10mb plan when possible. I also can’t blog due to the way Rogers does their MMS. The is Prob a result of the whole RIM patent issue but instead of directly posting Rogers sends a messege with a link to the messege which is only saved for a certain period and useless for blogging.

Invsetor, that’s correct. Download numbers doesn’t mean much, the more important figure is webpages served.

Daniel, thanks for clarifying…

However, if preinstalled are not (partly) included, how do they upgrade to new OM version (when not by download)… ???

Also, the cumulative download figure gets more and more distorted, with time, as user replaces handset with a new (lifespan handset 5 years, means current OM users are counted twice in 5 years).

Anyway, would like to see stats about monthly web pages served…
(that includes all users, shows real usage, and trend).

Is’nt Germany the biggest T-Mobile users in Europe? I didn’t see them while working in Switzerland, nor Italy or France. So how are OM doing in Germany?

@Joel, you're very correct. The US doesn't top the charts for per-capita use. A few months ago I blogged some statistics on Opera Mini. @Investor, the 15 million doesn't include the installation by handset manufacturers and operators/carriers, just those that were downloaded by users. There is no way we can tell if it's one user installing Opera Mini on two phones or two unique users. @Øyvind Ø, the deal we signed with T-Mobile is T-Mobile Europe, not in the US.

We don’t have Telefonica nor T-Mobile in Norway. though you have T-Mobile in the US don’t you? At least that was what Paris Hilton used last time I checked

I believe the correct description is, OM installed in more than 15 million handsets.
The number of users are less, as many have several phones, eg. have bought a new model since first installed OM 16 months ago.

If number of unique users can’t be identified, additional stats about monthly (quarterly) Web pages served would be helpful to illustrate growth…

Also I’m surprised Europe (EU) is not in front in terms of usage. When operators like Telefonica and T-Mobile put the pedal to the metal marketing OM… I expect some results

Most prolific? I guess by that you mean “most abundant” because US, Russia and China also have some of the largest populations in the world… Who is at the top of the charts in per-capita use of Mini?
