eXtreme Open the Web Project: Open 50 websites in 2 days
Published May 29th, 2007 10:10 AM EDT By Daniel GoldmanLast week the Opera office in India took upon them a project to contact the webmasters of 50 websites and work with them on fixing their sites in order to make them work properly in the Opera browser.
The India office has a team of 8, but only 2 of them work in Opera’s Open the Web (OtW) department. For this project, however, the entire office joined.
They intended to target these 50 websites in 4 days, but managed to complete it in only 2. (With the extra 2 days left, they went on to create a total of 8 new Opera Widgets.)
Good work guys. Now we have 50 better websites out there.

using
Steve, the sites will work in Opera for the Wii just as they would in Opera for you desktop computer, but they probably have not been redesigned to be more friendly for Wii users.

That is pretty amazing. If only Blogger would fully work with Opera. The old version did, but there are problems with the new one.
using
I guess Blogger/Blogspot is not one of these 50?
I’m still a having problem with that and wish I knew how to fix it.
using
Did they published a summary of the fixes?
using
I think they’re all on http://widgets.opera.com/author/Opera%20widgets (just look at the dates)
using
I assume most of the site issues in India is somewhat related to Unicode font related. Many use dynamic font and can only viewable with IE. I personally know this problem for almost all the leading Newspaper sites in Indian subcontinent who use dynamic font for the newpaper. Mass users access through IE only. This is the people where opera has opportunity to reach out if that unicode font issue can be addressed at those site developers end.

Just to let you know, we have only one person in India, not two, unless one sneaked in the back door when I wasn’t looking.
