Geoffrey, Opera has been doing proper zooming for years. I don’t quite see what’s so great about Deepfish’s method of taking a screenshot of the page and just showing the image on the phone.

Does the current Opera browser support the SVG foreignObject tag?? With this tag implemented, it would seem to me that a replication of the zooming capability of DeepFish could be readily achieved by Opera. (and firefox 3).Well, maybe not very readily. Would need some XSLT work to produce xhtml to place inside an SVG doc.

What a lovely opportunity for Opera to present a demo of the Shark… Mobile 9… Let the public know how a real browser works… make Deepfish jump back into its glassbowl…

I went to download the technical preview and got this: “Thank you for your interest in Deepfish; At this time the tech preview has reached the limit of initially available installations. We will send you a notification if we make additional spots available at a later date.”

I love how this demonstration video ends up showing articles about Opera all the time. Does Opera have a mole at Microsoft?
