I was there too!

http://flickr.com/search/?q=opera&w=70483566%40N00

Hakon rocked the house!!
Also, Firefox guy wasn't too bad either - youthful and intelligent. Microsoft was kind of an a-hole :o
All in all, a very fun night.

Plus Opera's got some amazing new builds coming up! With built-in video player no less!

Good video. I think everyone would agree Opera's participation was by far the most interesting (though less unbiassed). For one thing, Håkon Lie was the only person to get spontanious applause.
You should make those kind of speeches more often, Håkon!

I was looking for a video or transcript of the Q&A Session as well, but so far nothing.

From http://ajaxian.com/archives/browser-wars-mozilla-ie-opera-join-up-for-a-panel-discussion

"@Mathieu — I’m not planning to do more footage from the event, as the WebBuilder organization that organized it is planning to issue a DVD and make the content available at a later date. If you want more Douglas Crockford, though, head over to the YUI Theater — several hours of Virtual Douglas are available there. Regards, Eric Miraglia, YUI Team"

They talked about "first-class video/audio citizen" and Ogg Vorbis support. Will this mean that a future version of Opera will support Ogg Vorbis audio? This would be a great addition, since many Wikipedia articles use this format.

PS: I am normally using Opera, but now I am forced to use IE on a public computer.

Kind of ironic that Yahoo hosted it, considering they've been notoriously lazy in supporting Opera. Their Yahoo TV Listings not displaying properly for months and months (on the previous design) being just one of the examples.

Excellent video. Wow. Incredibly ingenious. I would have never thought that a video could be treated the same as an image in a webpage. Yay for native support.

@Frederik: It seems that Opera (Hakon Wium Lie –Chief Technology Officer at Opera Software) is interested in wanting browsers to be non-dependent of plugins for video/audio in the near future. It'd be nice for some websites to make their video/audio work better with Opera in the meantime. It's hard to live without resorting to other browsers because of this. And, I really think this hurts Opera's ability to be the chosen/primary browser of many. As soon as a problem arises like this that other browsers handle with no problem, the tendency of many is to write-off the 'offending' browser as incompetent or buggy or some such thing---the result being Opera losing another potential convert.
