Aqua style Opera icon for Macs

If you’re using Opera on the Mac, you probably noticed the Opera icon and how it just doesn’t fit in with the standard OS X look. Well, a couple Opera users took matters into their own hands; they created an Aqua style Opera icon with the Opera shadow gone.
You could download and install this icon. Installation instructions here.

A much better icon for the dock! ;D
using
I like that icon. Very nice…
using
Fantastic!
Finally someone put end to that flat gray “shadow”!

Here’s hoping Opera’s official Mac logo follows suit!
This sort of thing may seem like a small detail, but I’ve known many Mac users who were hyper-critical of any bit of software that has an “ugly dock icon”. I’ve even had people admit they stopped using a particular app because they hated the icon!
Basically it just makes sense to have a product that has a “good fit” in its environment.

+1 for making this the default icon for the OS X build!

How about making this the default for Opera on all platforms?
Vista and KDE are similarly glossy by default… this looks so much nicer than the current retro icon IMHO.

Wow, this is great! Thank you so much, I really appreciate this post “for the competition” (of Microsoft). But, strictly speaking, aren’t you my ally??? Metaphorically of course, through this site.

Fantastic icon!
Now the dock looks a lot better.

that is much better, but i liked your “first shot” better so i made it into an icon. it more closely resembles my microsoft office icons

I was annoyed that my new opera icon did not match the documents icon so i made this one. It’s basically the aqua icon on a document page. You can download it here: http://www.box.net/shared/n1akk8xuql
