If Opera mini is used so often on a Pearl, small adaptations in the user interface would help:
1a. Rolling the pearl up/down should scroll fast, while rolling sideways should move to the next item (often on the same line).
1b. The numeric keys should be available for additional scrolling options.
2. When entering email addresses and URLs, spaces should be automatically translated into special characters.
3. The font (and its size) in the header, task bar, and menus should be the same as in BlackBerry applications.
4. Some menues are unnecessary, others could be combined.
5. Between small and medium, other fonts, e.g., bbcasual and bbtall should be allowed.
6. Switching between browsers should be possible (think changing the engine in Firefox)
6. Upgrading should not erase bookmarks and rss feeds.
All this should be easy to do, and many more Pearl users would choose Opera mini.

Being a Bruneian myself, I'm quite surprised that Brunei has the highest penetration of Opera Mini users. I use it mainly to surf news sites where the RSS Feeds is very useful. Thanks.

Can't afford to buy a PC? Man, I can save for a PC if i stop using Opera Mini for one month. Have you forgotten that mobile internet is not free? Internet at home is almost free (10$ per month is quite affordable), but mobile internet is not (.25$/Mb). My own reason for using Opera Mini is because I am an internet addict (though I do feel fine if I cannot browse web for weeks, I can't help browsing it if i can). So, Internet is all around me, thanks to Opera mobile.

Hey I'm from Brunei; it's not quite surprising there's a lot of Opera Mini users from here since it's mostly teenagers like myself who make most of the Opera Mini users from here and love the convenient of using the Internet on the phone, usually for social purposes. That explains why ;P

well,ur poor-area hypothesis might be ok,But I noticed that having an opmini in ur phone gives an enhanced connectivity, keeps u lightweight and saves money iff ur operator charges u per kb. In India, gprs plans of most of the operators are not suitable to use net on a phone.
