I just stumbled across a post by Chris Garrett (formerly from Performancing) where he links to a Flickr image that compiled a bunch of popular corporate company logos that were redone to the “Web 2.0” look.

This got me curious about how Opera’s logo would look like in the Web 2.0 arena?

Got any ideas? Email them to me or put them on your blog and post the link in the comments below. I’ll send out a free Opera t-shirt (with some other Opera goodies) to the 5 most creative logos.

Go out and grab some Opera logos (use any of the logos on that page, including Opera Mini’s) and let’s see the talents you’ve got!!

    Funny. :D
    I will try!
BTW, personally I hate all those “Web 2.0″ stuff.

In my opinion, it should look like that. Sorry, there’s no more the big red O…

That Quaker logo is absolutely hilarious.

I remember seeing this quite a while ago.

    Opera’s logo would have a drop shadow, reflection and a gradient….oh wait a minute…

Would it have to be renamed OPERr!beta first? ;)

The current logo does, but it’s kind of uhh, not physically correct…

I don’t care much for the logos, but Opera’s definitely must get a little love. I personally like the Opera ASA logo, though (I think it would be good for the application, too).

Anyways, people have suggested an overhaul many times, nice someone finally listens (even if by accident ;) ).

I’ve always thought the Opera O could use a bit of polish. Maybe now is the time? :)

A really simple mockup with reflections. Nothing special at all but this is my first time using SVG…ever so that may explain the simplicity.

I like the simple O with impression / shadow …

There are many O logos, but none other with shadow ?… And the double circle looks good on different background colors… eg. see OM skins…

(The text Opera Software might be *upgraded*, though, abit slimmer ?)

Opera really does need a new logo in these 2.0 times! Here’s my attempt …
