Firefox is NOT coming to the Nintendo Wii; Rumors are false

There are some rumors flying around on the web today about Firefox releasing a version of its browser for the Nintendo Wii. These rumors are false, of course. We built an excellent browser for Nintendo and continue to have a great relationship with them.

The beta version of the Opera browser for the Wii, called the “Internet Channel”, was released in late December of 2006; the final version should be out in a couple months.

    Can you tell us what additional features the final version will have? We have some disappointments at being restricted to just Flash based multimedia and also no Tab browsing. I hate only being able to access one webpage at a time!

    Also, the “menu bar” at the bottom needs an autohide, and the browser needs to use the rest of the sides and top of the screen also.
