Limited testing of Opera Mini 3 beta

Today Opera released a beta version of Opera Mini 3.0.
I was shown a demo of Opera Mini 3 last week, and was really impressed by some of the new features and capabilities that made it into this beta version, as well as those that are still under development.
Opera Mini 3 includes an RSS feed reader and adds secure browsing capabilities too. It also includes a photo upload feature, where Opera Mini starts the phone’s camera, and then uploads the photo to the web.
Another new feature, which I particularly liked, is the ability for Opera Mini to detect long lists of links (like the ones generally found on the sidebar of blogs and websites), and collapse them, which reduces the amount of scrolling. Clicking on the small icon near the collapsed links will expand the list.
I don’t have the exact numbers now, but I’ve been told that Opera Mini 3 significantly increases the page loading speed.
We need to make sure Opera Mini 3 works properly on all mobile phones, so please download the beta version. Post your feedback in the Opera Mini forums or by submitting bug reports.
If you already have a previous version of Opera Mini running on your phone, it will install the beta version alongside the regular version. Also note this beta version will stop working once the official version is released.
This beta version is in limited testing only, and is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Why are feeds a bookmark?
Do they look like they do in the Firefox desktop browser, in the form of a bookmark, or similar to the Opera desktop browser where Feeds appear in a manner similar to Email?
I think that is one area where the desktop browser exceeds and excels beyond Firefox, the way feeds are handled by the browser – I would not want Opera to be taking a step backwards in this area…
using
No, it’s not like firefox. This is real aggregation/server-side polling, not a fake feature.
We put the link in the bookmarks because we couldn’t find another spot in the startpage where it made sense to put it.
using
That’s fair, then.
Go Opera (Mini)!

I just downloaded the program and tested it out some on my T-Mobile SDA. So far so good. The collapsing link idea is genius!
using
REALLY great, I love Opera Mini. The collapsing-feature sounds handy.
Will we have to pay for the final version or what’s the reason for disabling the beta on the final release?
using
Bo, no Opera Mini 3 will still be free.
using
I hope it can handle encodings better, or even let you set the encoding. I cannot read several chinese words in Opera mini.
using
What about backup/restore of bookmarks.
using
Backup, when they are stored on Opera’s servers?
using
What are you talking about, ******. Bookmarks are stored locally, moron.

Rick, there should be the RSS Feed icon in the top part of the browser. Click on it.
