I haven't read all of the comments, but a couple things I'd like to see implemented are:

1. Compatibility with Google (i.e. Google Calender, Gmail, etc -- currently Google gives you errors saying the browser isn't compatible although I haven't noticed too many problems, just some display issues)

2. Search tools like Firefox. I really like Firefox's search where it will find it as you're typing and you can click on find next to search for the next instance. It also doesn't dissapear after a couple seconds.

3. It would be nice to have a spell checker like in Firefox 2. Noot a reel big deal butt its nice 2 no wen i makez a stoopid spellin misstake :)

(+) 2- In my previous post, in number 2, it was "width" (xD). And I was thinking about the tabs in Firefox. (They always have the same width, and there are arrows to both sides)

8- Also, a window where the thumbnail of every tab can be seen. (Just like in IE7, don't really know whether Opera has it or not)

(250) Some of my ideas (by the moment):

1- Open source
2- Ability to select minimum hidth for the tabs (when there are a lot of them, they're almost unclickable)
3- Group open tabs into groups
4- Backup of the data from Opera
5- Multilanguage file, just change the language with two clicks.
6- Update manager
7- Alternative text over undownloaded images or with "No images" option activated

Opera 10 Wish list

1) Support for document function in XSLT.

This is a must in my opinion.

2) Ability to get browser url inside XSLT via extension function or some other mechanism. Something along the lines of document-uri function.

The ability to parameterize based on the browser url is needed without going to javascript.

This greatly inceases the usefulness of PI XSLT in the browser.

3) Support for E4X.

4) Full XSLT 2.0 if not in Opera 10 then Opera 11

There is where you need to be to be a 21st century browser. Anything short of XSLT 2.0 by 2009 is unacceptable in my opinion.

Note: By the way I test all my web development in the latest version of Opera.

- Sync bookmarks between online services (del.ico.us etc)
- Improve the IMAP support, take a look at Thunderbird for pointers, like others have said, I still find myself using it instead of Opera.
- OPML sync for feeds to allow sync with bloglines etc.
- Update manager
- Do something about the bittorrent client, its just buggy!
- How about an optional customer experience feedback thing like some others do, I know it may seem a little over the top but might allow you to see how Opera users are using the browser on a day to day basis.

1) Ability to sync bookmarks, settings, etc. between computers
2) Include zoom size in web site preferences
3) I'm not sure how it works but I'm only able to see ESPN Gamecast in Opera on my Mac, but not on my PC. I'd like Opera PC to be able to render ESPN Gamecast.

Thanks,

I always use Full Screen feature. But default opera start in normal mode.

IE makes use of the FullScreen flag at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

If you close the application in Full Screen mode, the next time you will start in Full Screen mode too

Thanks & great work in opera 9

An important usability obstacle in opera is the error dialog that popups whenever opera cannot check/send email messages. Sometimes I want to use opera offline, but this popup window is annoying.

Cheers,

A properly ordered Preferences with everything in one place, because right now, it's all over the place and extremely hard to get used to.

Advanced Preferences should mirror what can be found in Preferences, and not be an entity unto itself. Memorising where has what is not a job a user should have to take up.

Better yet, change Advanced Preferences to Customised Preferences and let users cherry pick what they would like to have in it for fast access.

Allow users to select All Zoom or just Text Zoom. All Zoom to zoom both text and images, Text Zoom for, you guessed it, just zooming text and leaving images untouched (and unpixelated).

Why remove the ability to save stuff from cache? Put it back in before the rest of the browser community mocks Opera users for being masochists.

Love,
CA

The SCRAPBOOK in Mozilla FireFox - is usefull very much. I would like to use same plugin in Opera, because Opera has all good things, except save pages. This function works unstable in Opera (all versions). But it will be good, if you include plugin-like-scrapbook into Opera 10.
Best regards.
(sorry my poor english - i am from Russia)

about browser identification:
-----------------------------
When you go to hotmail or 'windows update' automaticly 'mask as internet explorer', when leaving these sites place the option back to what it was before visiting these sites...

Oh, and hotmail keeps saying I should allow cookies... the problem is... they already are allowed... Can you fix these bugs...

We technorati are feature-whores of course but if you don't do the simple stuff *superbly* Opera will never prise Joe and Jill Six Pack away from IE.
I miss some Firefox features sure, but i stick with Opera because page and/or font size and colors are far more easily changeable in it [mouse gestures are great too, even if Opera hides/underdocuments them].
So, tho i know Opera is still a bit faster, it's comfort that keeps me with it.
It has one huge uncomfortable aspect tho: it uglifies many pages. Opera has, legitimately, blamed Microsh*t and lazy page designers for this, but Firefox seems to fare better.
I know this is really hard [for instance: my customizing tweaks also derail overall page layout] but Opera has to do better on this score,
Because this is what browser users notice first. "Oh, Opera pages are ugly, so Opera is bad."
So Opera folks: yes i know you have to add the soup-de-jour hot button features, but put this issue first!
