Opera’s Nintendo DS Browser to be released on October 6th

Nintendo Europe, in a statement on its website, said that the Nintendo DS Browser would be available on October 6th of this year.

July 24th will mark the debut for the DS browser, but in Japan only. In Europe, and presumably the US, the browser will become available on October 6, 2006.

I had a chance to play around with the Opera browser on the new Nintendo DS at the launch of Opera 9 last month in Seattle. (See photos here)

The Opera browser for Nintendo DS will be sold as an optional DS card. Users simply insert the card into the Wi-Fi enabled Nintendo DS, connect to a network, and begin browsing on two screens.

    I’m just wondering if they will market this as a Opera browser, or a Nintendo browser. Will people know that this and the Opera desktop browser is “the same”?

    I think Nintendo will market it as the Nintendo DS Browser, but will also say something like “From Opera Software.” At least that’s what I’ve seen on the packaging for the browser.

    This browser sounds really cool! I am definitely going to head out on the 24th next week to try to scoop one up. I just hope the browser cards are easier to find than the DS units themselves!!

    i have a nintendo ds but i dont know how to connect even though i have a wireless router i dont know how to put it in our use it and i want that opera thing that cool browser thing but i dont think they sell it in canada maybe in U.S. but i live in canada

Q: Doesn't Opera copy all of their features from other browsers?
