Designing for the web inherently does mean essential knowledge of the medium of exhibition. A badly coded or a non-standard compliant website would ultimately mean, loss for web-designers. Following standards is just becoming even more important as the internet is being accessed from numerous different sources everyday. “Serious web developers” would be aware of the importance of web-standards, or more importantly, realise the need to get educated about the need for standards.
