The second preview of Opera 9 is scheduled to be released tomorrow (2/7/2006), which will include BitTorrent and widgets support.

Update (2/6/2006 2:03PM): Opera spokesman Thomas Ford told Opera Watch that tomorrow’s technical preview of Opera 9 will launch with approximately 12 widgets. Some of those will be general tools and others will feature third-party content.

seems that widgets are closer to Apple’s Dashboard Widgets, than Firefox’s extensions.

I am still a little skeptical about widgets within a web browser, on paper that is, but maybe once we’ve seen the actual implementation in the flesh and blood it will be cool.

it should be widgets for desktop, but if a widget (ajax program) can act as a “toolbar” or a “toolbar item”. If the widget can be integrated to the browser interface, it would be perfect.

Daniel, Any idea on what the widgets can be.

And what third party authors are creating the wdigets.

P.S. I can finally uninstall my Bit Torrent clients
