I don’t know what the complaining is about.

The Blue icon was misleading and uninformative.

The orange one is fresh, can grab attention and majority of the users know what it is.

And besides the Tango CL theme had this icon for ages

Having a nice consistent icon is good, but when the site can override it (like this site does), it defeats the purpose…

It’s a pity the orange icon is both ugly and uninformative, but I guess a standard (even an ugly one) is better than inconsistency.

Did Opera devs contact Firefox devs about this, because ie 7 did and i don’t want that asa guy smashing opera, saying that opera 9 is a lame copy of firefox

I wrote a small tutorial on how to change the RSS icon in Opera to your preference, for anyone who's interested. I was actually quite surprised at how easy it was to do.

I don’t think its good. The icon doesn’t tell the user what it is. The RSS icon Opera and Safari already have it better. It tells the user what it is.
